Easy on the Eyes

Eye shadow shouldn't be intimidating to apply. With the right tools, techniques and patience a little creativity can go a long way and last just as long. Some women have difficulty applying eye make-up and don't know where to begin. With all the information and tutorials, you'd think we have it down to a science. But with new   products developing daily- it can be somewhat difficult to keep up with the latest trends. I found it much simpler to KISS (keep it sweet & simple). Just because they make don't mean you have to wear it!.

No longer shall you have to turn a "blind" eye to applying eye shadow in your favorite hues and textures. Just keep in mind it's all about personal style and flair. Follow these basic tips and eye color guide to create a clean and irresistible fresh or dramatic glamour goddess look.

1. If you have time, apply a base coat on your eyes just as you do your face. Try a loose powder or foundation to create a soft palette.

2. Blend the colors. Your eyes shouldn't look a rainbow-colors look separated.  Experiment with one eyelid by applying any color and then follow with another. Use a eye shadow applicator to blend. Gradually build your shades (a maximum of at least 3) to start and see how they look.

3. For a dramatic look, dip the applicator in water and apply to eye lid. Avoid being "heavy handed". The goal is not to look like a zombie extra.

4. Apply a lighter shade towards the inner corner of the eyes. This gives your eyes a youthful appearance.

5. If you want your eyes to appear larger, use a light color on the inner corner, and a darker shade in the middle of the eye area. Nice WOW factor!

6. Apply your dark shadow only to the eyelids from the lash line to the crease in the eyelid. Apply your medium shadow from just below the eyelid crease to the brow bone.

7. Highlight along the brow bone. This way will make your features stand out naturally and beautifully.
