Create a hair style you can handle
1. Create & Increase Volume
Try the following for thicker strands- Invest in a great cut.
Layers will add movement and volume, especially thin or fine hair.
To get bigger and thicker hair, use volumizing products. Hair care products with nourishing benefits that won't weigh hair down is most suggested. To make your tresses look even fuller, wash hair with shampoos which offer the same benefits
Avoid heavy oils which can be hard remove once they have been applied. Instead switch to a dry oil that reaches deep in the hair shaft and repairs where needed.
2. Hydration is Key
I love my natural hair, so to be sure to keep it strong and healthy use a leave in conditioner and moisturize in moderation. Girls with natural girls know hair can easily dry out and take on a brittle dry appearance. Decrease usage of flat irons and blow dryers. If possible, (ladies I know it may be difficult) opt to using your tools every other week. Give your hair a break or it may break from you! Try shying away from alcohol based styling products they dry out strands.
As it with oils, over doing too many products will have the same effect; heaviness. But to remedy; use a clarifying shampoo.

Know your products to get best results
If you're anything like me you hate seeing those gray stubborn hairs sprout from your scalp. It just makes you wanna scream! Dye, is the first thing that comes to mind -more ways than one. But I had to come to terms with my grays by finding a way to make them stand out beautifully. Lowlights/highlights are a great buffer allowing hair to blend more naturally. To have a more stylish affect, allow one section of hair to come in gray. Gray hair can be quite unmanageable and wiry, however you can combat that stiff feeling with a heat treatment. It restores the silkiness. A professional treatment may work best to allow keratin to penetrate deeply to soften strands.
4. Shorten Styling Time
Most women are trading relaxers for natural styles, but don't know the best styling options. Rule of thumb; set it by your schedule. If your always busy, a natural wash'n go fro may work best. Try out new natural hair products- get creative! Pay attention to technique. Use of styling products will help set your natural curl pattern. Now, don't be afraid to apply liberally, natural hair absorbs moisture quickly. The better you become using styling products the longer the style will last,

Be Fearless- your beauty is unique
My mom always told me "your hair is your beauty". Stop hiding your beauty under hats and scarves. You can minimize "bad hair" days by applying products that don't attract dirt and lint. Heavier products containing beeswax and butters have a tendency of attracting dirt. Get to know lighter oils or gels that add moisture. Pantene Truly Natural Shine Serum with Argan oil is perfect. I've switched from Pink Oil Moisturizer. You may be able to find the serum at your local store or at pantene.com for $5. And for de-tangling, I find it best to section hair and comb through. It's less stress and breakage on your hair. You can use protective styles like braids and twist outs. But the key component is to use a good moisturizer and conditioner. Utilize these steps and you can avoid a style meltdown.
