Trust in just six short months the accumulation of $50 turned $300 is not only astounding, but you'll congratulate yourself on committing to a rewarding plan. To get started, here are some great "no brainer" ideas to help your wallet (bank account) grow.
1. Save your five and one dollar bills that come your way. Do the same with your spare change. There's no need to purchase piggy banks, just use whatever containers you have around the house. Then at the end of the month, you can deposit the savings in your bank account.
2. Become more energy efficient. Search your home for any "energy robbing" appliances that you don't use often. If you have items often plugged in; toasters coffee makers cell phone chargers, etc...unplug them.. Do the same for other small appliances around the house. Plug in items only when needed. Invest in clocks that are battery operated. Honestly, you can't tell time when you're sleep...just kidding, But you get the idea.
3. Gotta get tickets to the latest movie starring your favorite actor or actress...Well, it's inexpensive to wait for the movie to hit DVD. Constantly shelling out big bucks at opening day can get expensive, Not to mention the cost of food. A super alternative to watching movies is your local library. Sure a lot them don't carry all the latest releases, nor will you have that extraordinary THMX sound, but watching old movies is just as rewarding, plus you can invite friends over, whip up some delicious appetizers and you won't have to worry about being "shushed" for talking and bursting out in laughter, crowded theaters or sticky floor. Visit them, check out the selection. My library allows me to keep my DVD's for a week....FREE! And if they don't have what I'm looking for... I can request selections through the online catalog. My movies usually arrive within a week. This provides me ample time to schedule alone time or family gathering.
4. When buying gifts for someone, whether it be for birthday, Christmas or anniversary, consider a more practical gift that continually gives for months ahead. DIY projects are extremely easy to find and there are some energy efficient ones as well. Plants make great gifts. Be crafty, wrap gifts in brown paper bags or newspaper. Adorn with ornaments for a finished look. Better yet, you can create community coupons filled with a free night of babysitting, free child ride to or from school offer a night to help clean a room or assist with yard work. Cook a nice meal for someone less fortunate. These aren't just options to save a "Grant" but a great way to build relationships within your neighborhood!

With high gas prices, and no sign of relief, this is not a bads idea. Depending on the distance to work, Purchase a bike, that allows you to burn calories and save money!
