Gluttony: The Worst of 7

Helpful Tips to Turn a "sin" into a more Heavenly Body

No matter where you look we are constantly surrounded with trending information trying to help keep the weight off. Whether it be the next miracle fat burner supplement or worthless machinery, we all fall prey to the hype. Face it, we all want to set achievable goals and track progress, but to what effort? One study show that setting bigger goals will have a bigger pay-off, according to The New England Journal of Medicine. In my opinion, I think you should crawl before you walk. Set small goals first then gradually move up. Your body will adapt to the change as you progress.

With good intentions in mind, setting high goals can be a huge no-no. It may have the adverse effect and demotivate. Simply put, the goal is unattainable. It's like buying a wardrobe of clothes that are 3 sizes too small with the idea of losing weight in a designated time frame. Well, its a goal, but not a realistic one. The only thing your gonna lose is money and gain a closet full of clothes you can't wear. Now you're depressed, broke and ain't lost and ounce.

Moving on to the next on; skipping the most important meal of the day- breakfast. Generally, I find this to be most important. Skipping meals typically is not the best course of action to losing weight. You need the fuel to get your day started. Now,it doesn't mean you need to consume a buffet spread, but a bran muffin, fruit cup or breakfast smoothie- something besides junk is beneficial. It help prevent the urge to go bananas on a heavy lunch, which can lead to poor food choices. So slow down, wake up early and eat.

Now if you must skip breakfast, try to grab a snack. Snacking throughout the day will not potentially make you gain weight. Its the snack you choose that can tip the scales. Chips, soda, candy bars, and double cheesy burgers are delicious, but we must practice self-discipline and moderation. Over indulging in foods we feel we can't absolutely can't live without will lead to serious health issues.

Another way to help promote weight lost is exercise. But not the conventional stair climbing, push-ups or running. I'm speaking more of a horizontal exercise. This does require the help of a partner. Sex! Although its not the most effective, but its damn sure one of the most pleasurable! Sex on average last about 6 to 20 minutes. (freaks are much longer) But you can burn about 200-400 calories, depending on the endurance level and participation. Honestly, if there is not much movement, don't expect optimum results, sex or weight wise....I'm just saying.

Lastly, take it the blue, the deep blue. More than anything else, I love to swim. Splashing around or cannon balling can burn some serious calories. Swimming depending on the style can burn up to 700+ calories. It helps reduce stress on your body due to buoyancy of the water cushioning and relieving stress on your joints. It also helps promote lean muscles, improve your flexibility and may even help you live longer. Other benefits of swimming include less injuries, muscle strengthening (especially the back and abs) and a better toned physique. Not only is it a great summer activity, its beneficial for expected mothers as well. So jump in...the waters fine.
