What To Think about When Choosing Wedding Lingerie

As your wedding day approaches thoughts are constantly racing around your head as you ask yourself “is everything sorted?”

The answer to this question is probably yes but have you considered what underwear you are going to wear beneath your carefully handpicked wedding dress. The wedding dress is one of the most important parts of a woman’s wedding day, that and the groom turning up. It is important to plan your underwear choices in advance to avoid any unsightly lumps and bumps such as boning or lace detail.  As you shop around you will discover that there is a huge variety of lingerie to choose from including bras, briefs, thongs, corsets, basques, suspenders and much more.

Your lingerie choice for your wedding day should be like your everyday lingerie choices, comfortable. That last thing you want on your wedding day is to be wriggling around in your beautiful dress trying to adjust yourself due to uncomfortable smalls. Buy your lingerie well in advance and try it on with your dress to make sure that it is the right size and that it is comfortable. You will be able to obtain your most recent measurements from your bridal shop to ensure accuracy. If there are any signs of your underwear digging in, moving around too much or being too tight reconsider your choice as you will be wearing them all day.

There is a whole world of lingerie on the market and each garment has a specific use. It is important that the purpose for which it is intended works properly. For example if you choose to buy a push up bra to enhance your bust and cleavage make sure that it does just that. The same applies to shape wear such as corsets and control pants.

Your lingerie should also compliment your dress in order to contribute to the striking look you are going for. It’s no good buying frilly underwear, corsets with boning or bold colours if they are going to be visible through your dress.

The type of undies you choose to wear under your dress will be based entirely on your personal preferences. Where some women like to wear thongs others like to wear briefs. The main thing to take into consideration is that they fit comfortably and compliment your dress.

Corsets and basques should be chosen with care. Not all dresses will need these as many of them already have boning in the dress to pull in your waist and enhance your bust. Other dresses may not be suitable for a corset as the boning may be visible under the material exposing unwanted lumps and ridges in your dress.

Other garments that women like to wear under their wedding dress are fashion stockings and garters. This is fine as long as they match the colour of your dress and underwear. Garments such as these are sexy and seductive so perfect for your special day.
